HEY GUYS MY WEBSITE TURNED THREE YEARS OLD TODAY!!!

I decided to commemorate my website's anniversary today with some art I whipped up and polished last night. instead of sleeping. Its not a very big milestone but I liked the idea and have always wanted to celebrate little website milestones and such. Since my hit-counter broke and I have yet to find/create a suitable replacement I've been unable to do the traditional kiriban games or hit milestones many are familiar with, so in lieu of those for now, I've got website anniversaries!

I had more I wanted to write but I got mad distracted so I may come back to this later. Anyway, enjoy the art~! Details and process break down will go up on my site later in the gallery since I got to use an old process I've not utilized in a minute for creating this image and I'd definitely like to document it somewhere!

Welp, the RSS appears to be working, huzzah, blog for my website! You guys will be able to see it in my next site update, just working on a few more things before my next FTP updoot!

So I’ve been playing a lot of Ender Lillies: Quietus of the Knights lately; it’s a fun little sidescroller or Metroidvania type of game that I happened across because the soundtrack for the game appeared in my music recommendations on YouTube. The cover art looked pretty and the name was intriguing so I hit play. I really enjoyed it! The game’s music was haunting, melodic, simple, somber, very… atmospheric! Eventually I happened to glance back at my go-to OST compilation video and caught a glimpse of the game play.

Side-scroller? Single player? Good enough for me!

So I went out on a whim knowing nothing else about the game, bought it for my Switch and have been playing it for about two weeks now!

Just like Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, this game hits that special place in my brain that is stupid excited for side-scrollers. I love the send of loneliness to this game which has inadvertently made me rather attached to the guardian spirits you can collect and add to your arsenal.

The plot is simple, in a post-apocalyptic kingdom you play as “Lilly” last of the white priestesses, guided by a single spirit, you roam your destroyed world curing “Blight” as you go, a zombie-like condition that has turned the land and its inhabitants into little more than mindless murder machines.

Along the way you can collect allied spirits once you’ve purified and rested their mindless, rampaging bodies, usually these are your mini-bosses and main bosses! Each gives you a different type of attack which makes for a fun means of puzzle solving with different combinations or builds. (Your starting spirit, Umbral Knight, for instance is a pretty basic with a decent long-reaching sword and your typical three button smash combo, your second spirit is also your first boss fight, Seigrid a warrior-sister type complete with habit and frock and large fuck-off morning star, she gives you both a spinning leap attack if used while mid air and makes a nice defense you can send out front on the ground to wail on encroaching blighted!)

The story is told through various little scraps you can find here and there which adds to an exploration element which I rather like in games like this, letters from blighted who never made it to their final destinations or keepsakes and talismans used by members of the clergy or local villagers in the cliff-side hamlet. Very…media res story telling haha!

It’s a fun game so far and I’m enjoying it immensely!

So I've finally gone and integrated my blog more firmly with my website, major thanks to [personal profile] vsitante for mentioning Sadgrl's Tutorial on how to do so! It was surprisingly easy, and I'm hoping moving forward this will encourage me to make a few more non access-locked general posts every now and then!

In other news, I finally got my hands on both Twelve Kingdoms art books from Akihiro Yamada, Garden of Eternity and Song of Seiya! Maybe I'll posts photos and a review some time, they're so gorgeous together and I love the complimentary designs~! I'm still so stunned to see a new art book after all these years, having an easy reference to the old and new 2012 re-release covers for the books is also incredibly nice!

I grabbed the new art book from Amazon Japan over here for anyone else interested in picking it up! I highly recommend it if you're at all a fan of 12K or Yamada-sensei's artwork! (The first art book can be found here!)

Very quick site update today: I've got a working sitemap section thats still a bit of a WIP, but hey, hopefully that helps some folks! Was inspired by the likes of my friend [personal profile] linky 's site actually haha!

I've also added: A secret page, the bookshelf has been updated, I should really put more photos up, lord knows I've got nicer ones of my shelf, I added something I wanted for the longest time, its a little bare bones but hey there's an adoptables page with little web doodads I'll be making that you can stick on your site or tools to download!

No link round up this time because I'm pretty tired and want to move on to writing other journals. ^^;

In other news, I've been debating moving from DA to Pixiv these days... anyone out there have any experience using Pixiv and mingling with the jp art/fan community?

Wooo new month new update! I feel like my other banners (the ones actually featuring Sats, lol) don't get as much love, but then again folk probably don't realize the uh... links to them admittedly. ^^; I should update my current display banner anyhow! Maybe for the next update!

  [NEW]

The Sketchlog and Illustration Gallery have both had complete revamps! They display a lot closer to how I’ve wanted them to for a while now. Archived word from past years now displays in text-based hyperlinks with short descriptions (inspired in no small part by

[personal profile] zarla 's old sites, specifically the shrines that used to be on MSP, the NPLU and IGTKY art galleries! I’ve always been fond of this simple layout and it’s a lot easier than fussing with thumbnails or light boxes (I know, I know, a light box should technically not be that hard but ultimately, I think the plain hyperlinks stay more in line with my pared-down oldweb design and frankly I’m lazy, if this will give me less excuses to update the site itself more regularly then I’m more than happy to keep it boring, nyaha!)

I used to have such a blast exploring mysterious image galleries on fansites and personal domains back in the day, each link was like a little surprise haha!

The Sketchlog should have considerably more work in it, including some recent fanart, nearly everything I’ve posted here before under my access-only sketch dump posts and lots of old, never shared before works, so have fun checking everything out!

The image gallery itself also looks much nicer I like to think. While it was cool, I did wind up scrapping the little sample preview window, it was getting a bit tiresome/tedious to make a new preview crop for each piece I uploaded and since my tendency it to update in far and few bursts with huge dumps of content so far, it just created lots of extra work that made doing a code push or last minute update take longer than I wanted it to. Hopefully this (and the new sketchlog organization) Will make future updates and retroactively throwing up more old sketches a lot easier!

In the new gallery, I’ve retained the sidenav much like I did for the sketchlog (only with better organization and some decluttering for the new year!) but now each bullet link goes to an individualized page to display the selected artwork AND offer artist commentary and bonuses like links to my drawing music, WIP shots and process notes!

Maybe I’ve sacrificed one time-consuming process for another in the end, but frankly I’ve long been meaning to add something like this, I’ve modeled it a bit after some of the things I enjoyed about my DeviantArt days, the space to ramble about characters, add story notes, links, even include individualized “scraps” like screenshots and WIP updates I normally just spam directly towards the eyeballs of my friends! This is just as much for me as it is (I’m hoping) a fun little bonus for any visitors interested in my art, a little bit of artist commentary and record of new techniques I’m learning and maybe even links to some brushsets or other assets I use in programs like clip!

  [LINKS ROUND UP]

Finally got around to adding more to the site! First up, artists:

Happy New Years! Time for a site update~!

[Under Construction]

I'm still tinkering with the oc roster, right now if you're curious you can see a really rough sample of my current layout for character profiles featuring an RP character Anya in that section. So much info I want to include and convey, yet I can't seem to come up with anything I quite like. Debating taking a leafe from my good friend Plati's toyhouse and see if I can't come up with individual css layouts for each oc with unique decor and such. It'll be a lot of work but who am I kidding this is always gonna be a work in progress haha, might as well just make it pretty!

I've also been re-hauling the sketchlog section, trying to toss up more artwork and make it a little less time consuming to update, for now I'm just going with simple text hyper links to images and simple one - two line descriptions. I like to think it encourages exploration too via way of old-net mechanics where you didn't always have thumbnails and each image was sort of a surprise!

[Links]

Can't believe I'd not done this sooner! Linking officially to Yana Toboso's website, and I got curious so I did some digging and found a wayback archive of her old site Devil 666 too, which I'm be snagging the banner from~! I've always realy liked her compact, clean looking site layouts, I actually modeled an old commission website off her current layout that I aped with frames ahaha. |D

Recently linked to a new artist I found while trawling jp.net Naino! They have a very cute multi-media gallery that feels very picturesque? Like children's fairy tale books with lots of cute faun-like designs and cute furry critters! I love their website too, its very cute and well put together!

[Whats New]

Reopened the Sailor moon and FFVII catalogs, there's both new books and refreshed descriptions and front/back scans for all the books in my collection now from these two fandoms! I'd hoped to get my 12K books listed in time but its been taking longer than I anticipated to get all the correct/most accurate information down haha! So I'll spend some more time on that section and hopefully have it finished by the next time I update this subsite!

There's also a few more links in the link/out section including some way-backs to other collections some of which still have working dl links! I'd jump on those while you can!

 Hey updates at TRSatsuki.net!

Mostly doing a quick round up since I've got a lot to do this weekend (more on that, probably this weekend!) BUT shout out to the few new subscribers I've gotten recently nice to meet you all! I'm so excited to see more people popping up in my small DW circle and its great to meet new people here on this platform. Feels so much more relaxed!

Anyhow onto those updates--

Links and Affiliates Roundup
I recently had the pleasure of affiliating my site with

[personal profile] zarla 's Ash.com which has been a staple of my internet experience for literally years, its kind of insane to think about how long I've followed and adored her stuff! WAY BACK WHEN NPLU WAS LIKE A HANDFUL OF TRIPOD SITES JESUS. I'd also like to shout out to [profile] devilology whose site I've also linked back to, hey Levi~!

I'm behind and will get to them during my next update but I've discovered a rash of delightful little fansites and treasure troves to link back to but they'll have to wait till next time since this has to be quick tonight.
Content Roundup
So I've finally gone in and made a LORE section on the site, yaaaay~! Its still incredibly barren right now since I've been planning exactly how I want to lay out and present information on it, but for now I've got Satsuki and Taylor's OG Team Rocket profiles up in sort of a hazhaphard WIP format. I may go back in yet again and change things around but EH good enough for now, I really just wanted to push some kind of update through before leaving for the weekend!

In addition to the new section there's also a plethora of new (Well, old!) art that's been re-uploaded into the gallery, most of it CoSCoN related! On the note of the gallery itself I'm planning on redesigning that a bit as well, I've been thinking about giving it a more Deviant Art vibe with descriptions, context and artist notes, showcasing each big piece on its own page, a little bit like Ashley's site gallery!

That's all for now, enjoy the new splash art, I had a lot of fun with it, Adeline isn't my site mascot but she's equally if not just as important a creation as Satsuki is to me~!

Site update lets goooo!

Been kinda lazily poking around and finally decided to upload what small changes I've added to the site, I've got some bigger plans brewing while poking around so as far as actual updates go, they're relatively small! The usual round up of links and the like, but there is some new content!
LINKS ROUND UP:
Added several new pages to the bookmarks! A fanpage I've been aware of for the longest time and finally remembered to throw in, Counterbalance! A tribute to Jessie and James of Team Rocket! I've linked back to the creator's domain and another small project of hers that felt really heartfelt and sweet, the Nostalgia Project! I've also joined a webclique, Dearest, hoping to snag the Yuri OTP of my dreams, Chikane and Himeko from Kannazooks! <3 I've also finally linked back to affiliate/good friend Knife's site! That's it for links, I told you guys it would be small. ^^;
ILLUSTRATIONS ROUND UP:
There are now some (old) pieces in the Gestalt gallery under the original works section of my finished works gallery! Notes several of these are NSFW!
FUTURE PROJECTS:
There are several sections to the site I still want to add, I'm feeling a slight creep of motivation stirring to tinker and build again!

I'd like to create a directory of Zines I've participated in and created myself soon, this may go on the back burner as its lower priority and at least one of those zines is ongoing/yet to be released. Debating titling this section "doujinshi" in kanji on my main navigation haha!

I'm also debating overhauling the sketchlog section, its still a bit cumbersome to keep updated and there's a lot of older sketches I'd like to throw on my domain, partly because I like them and partly because a large portion of my work is entirely unseen and has only been shared privately and there's a good amount I've stockpiled that I'm proud of and wouldn't mind hosting on my site for others to explore! The biggest question is how I want to present and organize it all of course.

I'm thinking of keeping the visual dumps as-are for the time being, my digital sketches often come out more polished anyways and include color! A large portion of whats up there is also Rocket related and might be sequestered to its own sub-site once I can get the stamina to build a new project, just keep all my rocketry/pokemoning sequestered into one big section of its own because it is SIZABLE.

As far as display and organization goes, so far I'm loosely considering organizing text-link galleries organized by subject (original project, fandom, etc.). It'll save time in creating little thumbnails for every thing and also be very literally old school in the process!

Lastly, I think its about timeI contextualized and presented my creative lore on my site, I don't have a proper section dedicated to characters, works or creative projects like writing or fanfic! This will def be one of the more time intensive and larger sections of the site but I've been liking the idea of it more and more. I used to post lore ALL THE TIME in my deviant art journals and lj. I think around the point I began to get more protective and scared to share my creative works was around the same time the internet stopped being fun, and since this site is also largely about having fun on the internet again and unapologetically sharing my work with those who would have it, why not! Lets do lore pages! Woohoo!

And that about wraps it up!

A small update to Standing Still, my mostly archive-only massively outdated shrine to the character Kamui (Saki Shibayama) from .hack// Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. One of these days I may reincarnate this sentiment as a TAFL fanlisting proper, but for now it's just a weird little chunk of me olde internet I couldn't quite let go.

It never really saw fruition as a fully-fledged website, and the character in question never really amassed much any popularity, if anything she may have had even a small hate-dom back in the day but for the most part, no one really cared enough.

I've been considering re-reading the .hack// manga out of nostalgic longing as I've ever so slightly tweaked this page, decluttering dead pages and in-development things that never quite got any content attached, making sure the pages are readable on the live-web and such.

So who knows, maybe I'll come back and actually add a thing or two to this dusty little darling, lord knows I do actually have a small amount of fanart lying around that could go up after a fashion, and I know for a fact there are at least two other unfinished fanfics for my insanely niche rairpair with all of 0 fellow fans!
